Create an API key

Follow the steps below to create a Groq key and unlock AI in Shine.

Create the key on Groq
This opens the Groq console in a new tab (your Shineboard tab stays put). Sign in, hit Create API Key, then copy the key — it starts with gsk_.
New tab blocked? Open console.groq.com/keys manually

Recommended model
openai/gpt-oss-120b
No Llama models recommended — this one handles long HTML documents and code well.

Use this as the base URL for any OpenAI-compatible client pointed at Groq.

Complete your AI experience
Head to Shine and paste your saved key into the Custom API key section in Settings — along with your model and base URL — to unlock all AI features permanently.
